You have to start somewhere…
We all have to start at some point somewhere. The question that I kept asking myself is how much longer am I going to stay there.. The place that everyone is when they dream about a change that they want to make to better themselves. Whether it’s losing weight to fit them old clothes we have or to change a bad habit that we know isn't healthy. We all have a place that we start from and what to escape.
My journey started roughly after having yet another fall from one of these “quick schemes” that seem so easy to do. Let me tell you something, nothing long-lasting comes from a quick fix. My quick fix was when I wanted to finally lose weight. I was close to 300lbs(295) and I tried the keto diet. Now to be accurate, the diet did work. I quickly dropped 20 lbs. However, I wasn’t happy. Not getting to eat foods that I loved was making me even more miserable. I started to have even more anxiety than before. Like WTF…I knew that this wasn't the solution, just a bandaid. So I had to look inward and figure out what is that I could do…
Then it hit me…I NEED CHANGE(I hate change btw). A change that was going to take time. Knowing I hate change I had to start small…So after leaving my job, and moving to Houston(small right lol) I had to start figuring out what is it that I needed to do to make these changes. As I sat on my sister's couch watching Steven Universe until 2 am it sorta hit me. Seeing Steven growing with each eps I started to see a sorta trend. He constantly struggled to fit in but was RELENTLESS in his effort to do better. I needed to do better so I had to become relentless as well. Relentless in my efforts to make changes in my daily habits to get where I want to be.
Sooo what did I do, I started to ride my bike. Simple solution right? For some yes, for others maybe not. I always loved riding my bike when I was younger, but never really knew what of an impact it would have on me when I got older. Well for starters my depression as well as anxiety has practically disappeared. I have lost 35 lbs, and have been in the best shape of my life. That and working out a lot more frequently have just made me feel so much better. I think I found my change, my solution.
My road bike… FLASH POINT!
This brand “Relentless” was never intended to be anything more than my own personal solution to being a happier me. I saw what it's doing for me and me being me I thought it could help others. So from me to you be relentless in your efforts to be a better you..I know the future you would be proud. I know I am. Till then
